Growing up in Everett, I've always found ways to help others, whether it was sharing a meal with a neighbor or offering a hand. But life places unexpected hurdles, and now I'm facing one I can't tackle alone. After losing my job and a lung, I lost my home. The floods in Snohomish swept away the last pieces of my old life, leaving me without a foundation, especially when the state recognized me as 97% disabled.
My next challenge is a heart valve replacement surgery. The hospital insists I need a stable place to recover, and it's terrifying to imagine healing on the streets. A small trailer isn’t just a roof over my head—it’s the hope of recovery, a space to regain strength and peace of mind.
For years, this community has been my home, filled with familiar faces and shared stories. In reaching out now, I am leaning on the same community spirit I have cherished, hoping to find security and a fresh start.
