Tisha and Pan got a house, but they need help with moving!
Tisha and Pan are queer and trans siblings who have found refuge and made a home together throughout their lives. As children, they experienced repeated housing insecurity. As soon as they were able, Tisha adopted 8-year old Pan in order to stay together and provide Pan with a safe and loving home. Since then, their story has been a profound one of mutually prioritizing one another in a way that models how “family” and love mean so much more than just being related.
(Tisha and Pan as kiddos)
As adults who experience chronic illness and disability, continuing to live together has been an important way to meet the challenges of living in the Bay Area. Despite this, they have brought their deep generosity and expansive sense of family to their community in the thousands of ways they offer care and support to others, whether in material assistance, emotional support, or caregiving to those of us recovering from illness, surgery, or setbacks. They have shown us what “chosen family” actually means. Now, in return, they need our help.
They were forced to use these savings after a recent car accident and injury left one of them unable to work until they could fully recover. They are now fully and stably employed, but without your help, it will be another big setback for them financially.
Please donate if you’re able, and share with your networks and those with the means to provide mutual aid. Contributions of any amount to this housing stability Spotfund are accepted - $5, $50, $100, $500+ whatever you have to give will be appreciated. Thank you for helping to create lifelong housing stability for Tisha and Pan!
