Our family has just experienced something I never imagined I’d have to write about, much less live through. We are a family of six — my husband and I, our four children, and our dog — and we have lost everything in the devastating floods that hit Kerrville, Texas.
In a matter of an HOUR, our home was overtaken by the Guadalupe River. We escaped with some clothes, a few valuables, and our lives. All of our beds, furniture, TVs, kids’ toys, and daily necessities — completely gone. We have no home to return to. We’re starting over from nothing.
The most heartbreaking part is that we weren’t alone. We lost neighbors and witnessed families screaming for help as entire homes were ripped from their foundations and swallowed by the floodwaters. The devastation here is beyond words.
As someone who has never asked for help like this, creating this GoFundMe is humbling. I’ve never started one before and never thought I’d need to. But right now, anything helps. We are so grateful to be safe, but we have a long road ahead to rebuild our lives and give our kids even the most basic sense of normalcy again.
If you feel led to help — whether through a donation or sharing this page — we would be endlessly grateful. Every bit makes a difference, and your kindness means the world to us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting our family during this unimaginable time.
