Friends, Family and compassionate Strangers. If you know my parents, Mike and Martha personally, you know that they are kind, generous and the most sincere and fun couple you may know. They are the first to pick up the phone or help you with any problem you may have. They aren't the type to take the easy way out or cut corners in hard situations.
"When life gives you lemons..." (My Parents actually buy an insane amount of lemons from Costco, Juice them and make lemon cubes to freeze.. and to this day I am still unsure what they used all those frozen lemon cubes for but I do know it was practical)
This is why, on behalf of them I am asking for a helping hand. The last thing I want is them worrying about bills during this time of recovery. Martha works a full time job and on her days off or after work she manages a few extra hours with a delivery service just to make sure they have finances covered. With new prescriptions, Dr. appointment's, Cancer treatments, physical therapy and blood tests, the last thing they should focus on is finances in a season of healing. Believe me, I know times are hard for a lot of people, so if all you can do is share and continuously say a healing prayer over my Dad we would be forever grateful!
Mathew 18:20 "For where two or three are gathered in my name I am there among them"

A note from my Mom:
”Now that Mike and I have had some time to process the news I wanted to share what’s been going on and to say Mike is doing well with his recovery. It’s been a scary few months. If not for the grace of God I would be in pieces right now. Mike was admitted into Chandler Regional Medical Center on Nov 6th with two hip fractures, he was quickly given morphine for his pain so he wasn’t fully aware when the doctor came in to tell us he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma cancer which was the contributing factor for the fractured hips. In that moment my heart sank and there was no time to digest the news. Every minute was consumed by blood tests, scans, X-rays, more scans and then emergency surgery the next morning on his right hip. The next day a biopsy and the following morning, Nov 9th was surgery on his left hip. 2 titanium screws, 1 rod, 1 plate and a partial hip replacement later…all I could think was how much more could his body take? He lost so much blood after the second surgery he went straight to emergency ICU, came out and a few hours later his heart went into AFIB and he ended up in Cardiac ICU. He was all over that hospital and met just about every nurse and tech. God watched over Mike and put him in the best hands. The hospital staff was phenomenal, and I don’t say that lightly, the nurses, techs and housekeeping team took absolutely wonderful care of him and for that I will be forever grateful. Dr. Charington (Oncology) Dr. Geer and Dr. Motskin ( Ortho Surgeons) were so amazing! Mike was transferred to Dignity East Valley Rehab on Nov 15th and once again received amazing care. I saw first hand what the mind is capable of, Mike stayed focused and positive and was determined to get home…he came home on Nov. 28. Started his cancer treatment Dec 4 and said F-you cancer. His body is responding well to the treatments and his cancer markers are going down. This man is determined and I can’t tell you all how amazingly strong he is. This past few months have been horrific. Unbearable to watch him in so much pain. This wasn’t the news we wanted to hear but we will get through it. I could never thank our family and friends enough for all the love and support you have shown. Especially having just moved my Mom in with us, family and friends brought us comfort and gave us the strength we needed to stay strong, thank you for everything. It meant so much knowing he has his family and friends by his side. I know Mike still has a fight ahead of him but God continues to surround us with people to help him get through this. I can’t thank all our prayer warriors enough. It means more than anything to keep him in those healing prayers. As we close out 2023 and start 2024 I just want you all to know how deeply we love you and appreciate you, near and far. I just can’t thank everyone enough for being in our corner. To love and support us. I am so excited to see him walking and feeling better. My heart is happy and I’m thanking God everyday for bringing him home to me. I love you Pappa… til the wheels falls off."
Thank you in advance for your never ending healing prayers, donations, calls/texts, meals and check in's.
