Recently, a devastating hurricane tore through parts of Jamaica, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. My dear friend, Randel salmon, and many resilient families in the Community/Parish, e.g., Westmoreland] area have lost so much.
The images we've received are heartbreaking. Homes have lost roofs, walls have collapsed, and essential vehicles needed for work and daily life have been severely damaged by flooding and debris. While we are immensely grateful that our loved ones are safe, they are now faced with the daunting task of rebuilding their entire lives from scratch. The recovery process ahead of them is immense, and they cannot do it alone.
I’m starting this fundraiser to provide immediate and critical support to Friends and their neighbors. Every dollar raised will go directly toward essential repairs:
- House Repairs: Securing roofing materials, replacing damaged structural elements, and ensuring families have a safe, dry place to sleep.
- Car Repairs/Replacement: Fixing vehicles that were essential for commuting to work, getting supplies, and accessing medical care.
The people in this community are hardworking and proud, but the scale of this natural disaster is simply overwhelming. A little help from us can provide the concrete hope and practical aid they need to get back on their feet.
Please consider donating whatever you can. No amount is too small. If you aren't able to donate right now, please help us by sharing this campaign with your networks.
From the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of the families in Jamaica who are struggling to recover, thank you for your generosity, prayers, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
With gratitude,
[Joe]
