Tamara, aka Tammy, was admitted to the hospital on June 1st with a liver aneurysm. Only 1% of the population has had this occur. She was internally bleeding and had emergency surgery to save her life. In addition Tamara's kidneys are not functioning due to the shock and she is now on kidney dialysis. 80% of her liver is dead so she is on the transplant list, and most recently had a procedure to stop the embolism in her lungs. They transferred her from Cooper Trauma to Jefferson Trauma where she continues to be intubated. Many transfusions and plasma have been given from all the blood loss. She will be hospitalized for a long time.
Tamara & Michael are self employed as they own a farm. (Twin Holly Farm) They are the only two workers, and that is their sole income. Hiring staff is not in their budget. The Bowers do carriage rides at Dickens night and offer carriage rides and birthday parties throughout the year. Needless to say, the farm is not open for business temporarily and the foreseeable future is very unknown.
This page is set up to help with bills, every day living expenses, care for when Tamara gets home and also for food and help with travel every day for Michael, her husband for the money that goes into parking, food and anything else needed for tamara and her family. Additionally, Tamara is her mom's caretaker so it makes things even harder.
It is going to be a very long road to recovery. She will not be able to help on the farm even if she recovers. Their income will be greatly affected and it is going to take a village to help with the recovery. Please find it in your hearts to contribute to this worthy cause. The Santone's are a great family in the community contributing in many ways. Please support and pray for Tamara and Michael and the rest of the family.
