On June 20, 2026, my best friend of nearly 30 years, her mother, her two young children—ages 7 and 8—and her unborn baby boy were killed in a head-on collision on SH-171 in Hill County, Texas. It was not her fault. I lived with this family. I was with them every day and those babies were like my own. They were my world. In a single moment, I lost the people I loved most and the home we shared. I still feel like im going to wake up and this was all a bad nightmare. It doesn't feel real.

Because I am not on the lease, the landlord has filed for eviction. My court date is July 20, 2026. I have a six-year-old child who needs stability. I have never had to ask for help like this before, but this unexpected tragedy has left me with no savings and an urgent need to relocate.

What We Need

We need help covering the one-time move-in costs for a new rental. I can pay rent and utilities going forward. I simply do not have the upfront funds required after this devastating loss.

Expense Amount

  • First Month's Rent

$1,300

Security Deposit

$1,300

Pet Deposit

$300

Application/Admin Fees (2 adults)

$270

Utility Deposits

$475

Total Move-In Cost

$3,645

I Am Willing to Work for Any Help

I am not looking for a handout. I am looking for a bridge. I have always believed in working for what you have, and that has not changed. I am willing to work for anything that is contributed—yard work, cleaning, vehichle detailing, run errands, volunteering with local churches and organizations, helping with events, food pantries, whatever is needed. I want to pay this kindness forward. I want to earn my way back to stability and then help others do the same.

How You Can Help

Donate: Any amount helps. If 365 people give $10, we are housed.

Share: Even if you cannot donate, sharing this campaign helps us reach people who can.

Connect: If you know of affordable housing, landlord programs, or local charities that assist with emergency relocation, please reach out.

Our Commitment to Transparency

Every dollar raised will go directly toward these move-in costs. I will provide updates and receipts as funds are used. This is not just about keeping a roof over our heads—it is about preserving the dignity and stability of a household that has already lost everything.

This was supposed to be a fun summer for my child and hers. We had plans. Swimming, camping (she had even bought a big tent that we didnt get to use) the ordinary magic of watching them grow up together. Instead, my six-year-old has watched me grieve, make phone calls, and try to hold us together. I want to give them a home where they can feel safe again. Where we can begin to heal.

I am asking because I have no other choice. I am willing to work because that is who I am. Thank you for reading. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for helping us find our way back.

With profound gratitude,

Brandi Reed [brandireed9150104@gmail.com]
