I have been battling 2 types of cancers for over a year and a half. And on top of battling the cancers the need for having to go to multiple specialists. Cancer specialists. Neurology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, and other specialists that I need to be able to get to appointments which are and will be over an hour to up to 4 hours away. The specialists around this area aren't worth the paper their degrees are printed on. And I have not been able to get desperatly needed medical care for all of my health issues.
I do finally as of January 2025 have a really good oncologist after the previous Dr turned out to be a quack.
Since my diagnosis in early 2024 I have battled covid 5 times in 10 months despite being extremely cautious. the first round of COVID in 2024 has been the worst most devastating round and nearly died from it forming blood clots that filled both lungs. I was aware and coherent and 💯% awake for everything and I watched as they were in my lungs removing what blood clots they could ( they were not able to get them all out of both lungs but got only part of what was in both lungs. Trying to find Dr's who handle my medical issues around here is pointless. The don't take what I am dealing with seriously. My husband and I need to be able to get to my appointments regardless of what day of the week the appointments fall on. It doesn't help that even though my husband is supposed to be protected by FMLA, his employer has deliberately sabotaged being able to make appointments , the even sabotaged my original cancer surgery date back in the fall of last year, forcing it to be scheduled for weeks later. We desperately need this to be fully funded immediately because unless it's fully funded I can't get the full proper medical care I desperately need.
The downside of FMLA is that it is unpaid which means any time away from his job means no pay.
It also doesn't help that even though his job is supposed to be 12 hour days 4 days a week he doesn't always get a full shift due to "allegedly not enough work " then there are weeks they don't work all 4 days. And because of what we are dealing with with my battling cancers, no other employer will even risk hiring him. And the way things are with the company he works for its highly uncertain how much longer the company will be in business overall or at the location he works.
They fired the weekend shift and the security guards that worked there 24/7/365.
Our van is 18 years old we don't know how much longer it can last.
My wheelchair is literally being held together by T-Rex tape. Which is highly unsafe, especially with my being anemic and on blood thinners.
