Alley Pond Environmental Center (APEC) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit environmental education organization located in Queens, NY. Our mission includes educating children and adults in the New York metropolitan area, protecting and preserving Alley Pond Park, other local open spaces, and bodies of water, and advocating for sustainable environmental policies and practices. With our home borough of Queens being the Gateway to New York City, we strive to offer a diverse array of opportunities to connect to natural areas, offering programming celebrating our region’s diverse wildlife and how we can better share the planet with the many organisms that call it home. We believe building engaged local communities is the key to making positive global change for the planet.
