After surviving a domestic violence situation marked by threats and physical harm, I finally found the courage to leave. It was the hardest decision I’ve ever made and although I’m now safe I’m starting over with almost nothing. I’m choosing to remain anonymous for my protection. I know that can make fundraisers feel uncertain, so I want to be as transparent as possible about my circumstances. I’m currently in school and working toward a career that will allow me long‑term stability. Without the financial support I once relied on I’m responsible for everything on my own. I’m working and searching for additional income but right now the gap is too large to bridge alone.
