I am in urgent🚨need of funds💸 to cover Basic Needs due to temporary loss of income and mode of transportation.
I suffered the loss of my vehicle🚗, and my primary means of generating income and of transportation, on the night of Friday, December 26th🎄.
That night my car was hit💥in a head-on collision while stopped at a left-hand turn🚦signal by an inattentive driver🤦♀️ turning against traffic into my lane. The police report👮📝confirmed that she was at-fault for the accident.
After the crash, the front of my car, including radiator🔥, coolant❄️system, and engine⚙️ are inoperable—it is not possible or safe⛑️for me to drive it in this condition.
I have filed an insurance📄claim, but it will take several days to several weeks 🗓️for them to assess the situation and determine any benefits I may be eligible for (e.g., a temporary rental, coverage of the collision and repairs or vehicle replacement).
I currently live in Inkster, MI, a suburb🏘️of Detroit🏙️ in Wayne County, that is largely a bedroom and commuter town with limited and inaccessible public transit and few (mostly low-wage) job opportunities. I do not live on a bus 🚌 line😞.
I just need a bit of funds💸 to cover my base expenses such as rent ($700/mo)🏠, phone ($112)📱, car loan ($346), alternate transportation🚎🚘 (est. $200), and minimum credit card payments.
I do not know how long I will be without a vehicle, so I’m trying to raise as much as I may need. ALL expenses paid from raised funds will be DOCUMENTED for ACCOUNTABILITY, and shared in-aggregate in an accessible format.
