Eugene Daub is one of America's most important figurative sculptors. He has conducted a full-time artist practice for over 50 years during which he has produced hundreds of commissions for some of America's most important commemorative sculptural monuments and medals. He has memorialised pioneering aviator AMELIA EARHART, civil rights activist ROSA PARKS, and explorers LEWIS AND CLARK.  His crowning achievement so far has been winning the rigorous international competition to design and create the ROSA PARKS monument in Statuary Hall inside the US Capitol building in Washington DC. This is a transcendent sculpture that will live forever. His Medalica work is equally accomplished.

 

Yet, there is no single published source that contains comprehensive documentation of his life and work. We aim to change that.

 

We have been working for over a year to gather everything needed to create the first book and related media on this very deserving artist. We have the data, the images, the essays, and other material to produce a 120-page book with over 100 photographs and a leading essay by American Art critic Wolfgang Marby. The book will be designed by Suzanne Matsumiya and edited by Andrea Serna. We are working with an effective art book distributor to get this book published. We have secured the design and printing services and are ready to print. 

 

We are a small group of colleagues working Pro Bono on this as a labor of love and admiration for Eugene’s art. We invite you to join us. Your support of this project will allow us to produce the book quickly without further delays.  We have received a small grant from Arts United and this Spotfund campaing has over 50 donors  but we need to still need to raise another  $7,500  to hit our goal. 

 

We have started production and our printer is waiting to get our files! We are that close!
