Many families have inquired about donating to support our family in covering the costs of the unexpected loss of our beloved Kobe. A portion of the proceeds will go towards a charity that specializes in Youth Mental Health and Anti-Bullying.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Kobe Rayden Maltizo of Carol Stream, IL, born April 17, 2013, passed the morning of July 12, 2025.

Let us remember Kobe- the beloved son of Annamarie Cadapan Merced and Guiffre Ryan Maltizo; cherished brother of Kayla, RJ, Christian, and Kenny; loving grandson of Cesar Merced, Saturnina Merced, Edwin Maltizo, and the late Roseviminda Maltizo.

Kobe was kind, caring, well-mannered, comedic, athletic, and passionate. He treasured being a part of the Carol Stream Panther Youth Football Team, and even participated in Wrestling during his time at Stratford Middle School. Kobe’s dream was to become a professional football player. He was loved by his coaches, and valued the guidance provided on and off the field.

He held a close relationship with each of his siblings. He often tried new foods and went on adventures with his Ate (Kayla), discussed sports with his Kuya (Rj), created a special bond with Christian, who was always found a step behind him, and shared many laughs and tickles with Kenny.

Kobe was loved by all of his friends and spent many nights playing video games with them. If not playing video games, he was often found doing something outdoors as he loved fishing and riding his bike.

He loved to make people laugh and always had a smile on his face. He was seen as the goofy, loud one of the family. His infectious laughter would ring throughout the house; There was never a dull moment with him around.

As we mourn the loss of Kobe, may we also celebrate his life. Let us be grateful for every moment we’ve shared with him. Kobe will continue to guide us and live through the memories made, keeping him in our heart forever.
