Help Rebecca and Anastasia Get the Medical Care They Need
Our family is facing an overwhelming medical journey, and we are asking for help, prayers, and support as we fight for a healthier future.
As many of you know, Rebecca continues to battle recurring urinary tract infections and severe complications related to her Mitrofanoff. These complications have led to repeated hospitalizations, including a recent life-threatening battle with sepsis. Rebecca desperately needs specialized treatment and surgery at Vanderbilt, which could dramatically improve her quality of life and help prevent future infections and hospital stays.
Right now, we are at a standstill. We are waiting to find out whether insurance will approve treatment at Vanderbilt, and we are also waiting for a referral from her GI specialist so the process can move forward. The waiting has been exhausting, frustrating, and heartbreaking as we watch her health continue to decline while critical decisions remain out of our hands.
At the same time, our daughter Anastasia is facing serious health challenges of her own. She has Type 1 diabetes, which requires ongoing care, medications, supplies, and specialist appointments that insurance does not fully cover. Recently, she has also been battling a UTI and experienced mild seizure symptoms, creating even more concern and medical expenses for our family.
The financial burden has become overwhelming. Rebecca is unable to work due to her medical conditions, and her husband is a disabled veteran whose disability income alone is not enough to cover the growing costs of medical care, medications, travel, lodging, food, and everyday living expenses. Because of these financial limitations, Rebecca has struggled to travel to the specialists she urgently needs to see. Without proper specialist care, her kidney function continues to be a serious concern, and she may face the need for kidney replacement treatment in the future.
Every donation will go directly toward:
• Travel expenses to Vanderbilt and other specialists
• Medical appointments and testing
• Medications and diabetic supplies
• Lodging and transportation during treatment
• Hospital and medical expenses not covered by insurance
• Basic necessities while our family focuses on health and recovery
