With a heavy heart, my name is Sierra Martinez, Ricky Martinez’s older and only sister. I come on behalf of my family to share and confirm the news that our beloved Ricky passed away to be with the Lord on March 14, 2026. This is not the news we ever hoped to share, but we wanted to confirm it for those who knew and loved him.
Where does one even begin when talking about Little Ricky?
Ricky was truly a joy to be around — a funny guy with a big heart for others. He loved people, loved making others smile, and brought so much light wherever he went. Ricky was very involved in sports, especially through Special Olympics. He participated in co-ed cheer, basketball, flag football, and cornhole, and proudly competed in many competitions with West Orange. Ricky was incredibly proud to be a West Orange Warrior.
If you knew Ricky, you knew how much he loved sports — not just playing them, but watching and supporting them too. He was a huge Orlando Magic fan and loved the Orlando Solar Bears. Ricky especially enjoyed going to meet-and-greets with the players, tagging them on social media, and creating content around the teams he loved.
Ricky loved attending sporting events, concerts, youth group conferences, going to Disney with our family, and simply enjoying life. He was someone who truly lived life to the fullest and experienced so much joy in his 19 years.
Our family is currently in the process of planning Ricky’s celebration of life and viewing. More details will be announced soon. During this incredibly difficult time, we are asking for support as we work to honor Ricky and give him the beautiful and meaningful farewell he deserves. No one can ever be prepared for a moment like this, and any help — whether through donations, time, prayers, or support — is deeply appreciated.
We also have a meal train set up for anyone who would like to sign up to bring food or support our family during this time. The meal train link is included below for anyone who would like to participate. If you would like to help or visit, please feel free to reach out to me, Sierra Martinez, at 407-451-7515.
For updates regarding Ricky’s celebration of life and other arrangements, people can follow my Instagram @Theonly.Sierraa. If you have my parents or other family members on social media, you can also follow their pages for updates as we continue to share information there. You are also welcome to reach out if you would like me to personally update you as plans are finalized. At this time, nothing is confirmed yet, but we are incredibly grateful for the love, prayers, and support we have already received.
As we walk through this unimaginable loss, our greatest desire is to honor Ricky’s life in a way that reflects the joy, love, and light he brought to everyone around him. Any support — whether through donations, prayers, sharing this message, or simply standing with our family during this time — truly means more than words can express. Thank you for loving Ricky, remembering him, and helping us celebrate a life that touched so many hearts.
Please also feel free to share this link and post on your social media to help spread the word to others who knew and loved Ricky. Your help in sharing means so much to our family during this time.
Even in the midst of this heartbreak, our faith remains in God. We believe that through all things God works not only for our good but for His glory, and that is where our hope continues to rest.
Please keep an eye out for upcoming details about Ricky’s celebration of life service.
With much love,
The Martinez Family
