Hi everyone,
My name is Melany Thompson, and rodeo is something I truly love and work very hard at.
During the season, I compete in 6–7 rodeos, half of which are over 150 miles away, along with training and practice in between events. Each rodeo costs approximately $400-$500 which includes travel to and from the rodeo, enrollment and entry fees, and food while we are on the road. In addition to that, there are yearly expenses such as rodeo gear, clothing, and equipment, along with ongoing training and practice to keep improving.
Even though it takes a lot of time, effort, and commitment, rodeo is something I genuinely enjoy. The rodeo community has become like a family to me. I’ve met so many good people and made great friends along the way.
This past season was especially meaningful because I won my first belt buckle, which was a big goal of mine. Achieving that goal made me excited and motivated to continue working hard and growing in rodeo this year.
I am incredibly thankful for everyone who supports me—through sponsorships, encouragement, and cheering me on. Every bit of support helps make it possible for me to continue doing what I love and chasing my goals. I have a huge Banner displayed at every Rodeo with the names of People and companies that donate as a way to say thank you and get advertisements for your company out there.
Thank you so much for being part of my rodeo journey.
