Sunnie was diagnosed on 10.26.2022 with DIPG- a tumor that develops in the brain stem- typically in children. The brain stem -specifically the pons- is what controls all of our motor function, as well as life functions such as swallowing, and breathing. DIPG is considered terminal, and currently has no approved treatment.
We are choosing to trust in our Lord & Savior and fight this tumor with everything we have. Sunnie is currently on a clinical trial out of Augusta GA that involves radiation, immunotherapy & chemotherapy. She has completed 42 rounds of radiation to the brain stem & 10 rounds of chemotherapy. Currently Sunnie has lost the ability to use her right hand and has a hard time walking long distances so she uses a wheelchair most of the time.
Her mother had to quit working to take care of her full time- The Williams (Sunnie, Her little brother Logan was is 5, Mom -Jade & Dad-Carlos) travel often for her many doctor’s appointments, as well as try to create as wonderful memories as family as they can. Donations would help contribute to monthly expenses, travel expenses as well helping the family provide as many experiences together as possible.
