My name is Melissa, and asking for help is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I am a mom of five children, a caregiver to my terminally ill mother who is battling stage five kidney failure, and a student working toward graduation in medical billing and coding so I can finally provide stable, work-from-home income for my family.
Recently, our situation changed suddenly when we were told we must leave our home by March 14th. This comes only two months before my graduation and during a time when my health has declined again — my heart function has dropped back to 20%, and I am doing everything I can to stay strong for my kids.
For the past several years, I have also been navigating the emotional impact of leaving a seven-year abusive relationship. Even now, I continue to receive hurtful messages telling me I am worthless or incapable. I have worked hard to rebuild my life through sobriety, education, and creating a safer, more stable environment for my children. Sharing this is not about blame — it’s about being honest about the challenges we are facing while trying to move forward.
My goal has always been independence, not long-term reliance on others. I have been planning small business opportunities, including a vending machine route and other income ideas, so my children and I can move beyond living paycheck to paycheck. I am determined to finish my program, secure remote work, and create stability for our future.
Right now, we need help covering moving expenses, temporary housing, and basic living costs while I finish school and get back on steady ground. I can provide documentation of payments, medical information, and communication showing our situation for anyone who needs reassurance that this is real.
If you are able to donate, share, or simply send encouragement, it truly means the world to us. I am still fighting — for my health, my children, and the life we are working so hard to build. Thank you for standing with us during this difficult chapter.
