IN MEMORIUM OF KAREN LEBLANC
As many of you know, our dear friend passed away sooner than anyone expected. We are still hoping to raise funds to help her son, Brant.
Brant is responsible for all of Karen's end of life care debt, in addition to his own financial obligations, while he tries to help move himself forward amid his grief. He has lost his entire family; his mom and grandmother both in less than 5 months. It is agonizing to lose a parent, but to lose both of the people who helped raise you, is heartbreaking. Brant went from thinking, "OK, Mom has cancer, we're going build her up so she can start treatments" to, his mom passing away in a matter of weeks after the first diagnosis. This tragic senario would be a tremendous burden for anyone.
Brant has a group of Karen's friends to rally around him, but it isn't enough to make a difference. We need help from others. He will need a lawyer to help get things in order, and to hopefully move forward. As we all know, an attorney costs quite a bit of money.
If you could search your heart, imagine the pain this young man feels, think of all the struggles he is facing at this moment, and just donate $10 or $20. It doesn't seem like much - maybe what you would spend for morning coffee or lunch one day. You could also send a gift card for groceries or Door Dash, as Brant doesn't drive.
We are all dealing with our own tough situations, but imagine yourself suddenly all alone in the world. And in addition to your grief, you must navigate waters you never have before. And it is just you...alone. It is almost two weeks since Karen passed, and Brant is struggling to do the best he can. We, her schoolmates and friends, will do our best to keep a watchful eye on him while he struggles to start over, helping when we are able.
Thank you for any and all donations. I spoke with Karen myself several times during this initial fund raiser, and she was overwhelmed with the support as I know Brant is, as well. Karen and Brant are/were very grateful for all the help they have and hopefully will receive.
Thanks
