My name is Rachel and I am raising money for Miss America Scholarships as a part of the Miss DC 2022 competition!
The Miss America Organization's mission is to "prepare great women for the world, and to prepare the world for great women." One of the ways they do this is by providing scholarship assistance - from the state and national competitions, as well as in local communities and competitions. The Miss America Organization is one of the largest sources of scholarships for young women in America, helping to provide more women with access to education.
Competing for the Miss America Organization is something that I have seen and admired in others for a very long time, and have finally found the inspiration to involve myself in personally! I was struck by the way this organization has rallied to support women in education with scholarships, encouraging success, and empowering young women to stand for their beliefs and advocate for change. My goal for being Miss DC is to provide more recognition and representation for both Taiwanese Americans, and also autistic and neurodivergent women to feel seen in public spaces. My platform for social impact is to advocate for the centering of autism research on the autistic experience, and using these experiences and inclusion to support better practices and services.

About the Miss America Foundation:
The Miss America Foundation (MAF), a separate non-profit 501(c)(3) organization from the Miss America Organization, is licensed to administer scholarship awards provided by the Miss America Organization. Donations made through this campaign will directly benefit the candidate's state organization to award scholarships, as well as scholarships awarded by the Miss America Organization through the licensed Miss America Foundation, 501(c)(3). As a 501(c)(3), donations are tax deductible per IRS regulations.
