The Reality
Every silhouette represents a story. For too many children, those stories are cut short by a silence that echoes through generations. I have spent my life and my career studying that silence, and I’ve decided it ends with us.
The Expert & The Advocate
My name is J, and I am an author and a clinical professional (MSW). My work at the bedside and in the field has shown me that child abuse doesn’t just happen in a vacuum; it lives in the cycles we are too afraid to name. I didn't just study this in a classroom; I’ve walked the long road from survivor to specialist. I know the weight of the "Why," and I’ve dedicated my life to providing the "How" for healing.
The Person Behind the Page
Behind this campaign is a real person. I am a survivor still weathering the storms of my past, and a single mother fighting every day to shield my little one from those same downpours. For nearly two decades, I have advocated on the frontlines for youth in behavioral health and shelters. This isn’t just a project—it is my lived reality.
Thank you for not looking away. Your support is helping me build the safe village I never had, and proving that together, we can finally break the cycle.
The Mission
The Mommy Why? Project is more than a book; it is a clinical and creative resource designed to:
Give a Voice: To the children who have been told to stay quiet.
Provide a Roadmap: For families ready to break generational cycles.
Bridge the Gap: Between clinical trauma work and everyday parenting.
The Ask
I am standing at the beginning of a long road ahead. As a recent graduate and a full-time advocate, I am looking for community assistance to move this project from a vision to a vital resource.
Your "spot" today funds the printing of books for foster care agencies, the development of trauma-informed training materials, and the reach of our 2026 advocacy campaign.
We have a collective responsibility to ensure no more voices are silenced. Will you walk toward the light with me?
