Hello, my name is Winston C. McLeod Jr., and I am the founder of Coastal Care Transport, a new non-emergency medical transportation service based in Suffolk, Virginia.
Coastal Care Transport was created with one mission in mind:
"Compassion in Every Mile."
This business is more than just transportation — it's about serving people in our community who need help the most.
After my father passed away last year, I spent a lot of time reflecting on life, purpose, and what truly matters. I realized that life is too short not to pursue something meaningful — something that serves others and makes a real difference.
I didn't just want to go to work each day.
I wanted to build something that helps people.
That’s when Coastal Care Transport was born.
Every day, seniors, wheelchair users, veterans, and individuals with mobility challenges face barriers getting to:
Medical appointments
Dialysis treatments
Hospital discharges
Rehabilitation services
Pharmacy visits
VA medical appointments
Reliable and compassionate transportation is not always available when it's needed most. Missed appointments can lead to declining health, delayed care, and added stress for families.
Coastal Care Transport is committed to changing that.
We are launching a premium, patient-focused transportation service serving:

Chesapeake (Greenbrier area)
Hampton
Smithfield
Windsor
Newport News (Shipyard/Downtown)
Our mission is to serve:

Wheelchair patients

Disabled individuals
Patients requiring ongoing medical care
To best serve our community, we are working to purchase a multi-wheelchair accessible transportation van that will allow us to safely transport multiple patients at once, including those who rely on wheelchairs and mobility equipment.
This will allow Coastal Care Transport to:
Serve more patients each day
Reduce missed medical appointments
Provide faster hospital discharges
Support seniors and disabled individuals
Assist veterans traveling to VA appointments
Expand access to compassionate care
Funds raised will be used for:
Multi-wheelchair accessible transportation van
Safety equipment and accessibility upgrades
Vehicle branding and startup costs
Insurance and licensing
Operating cushion during launch
