Hi, my name is Sasha Savransky. I have been a proud American citizen for over 30 years, but I was born and raised in Kharkiv, Ukraine. I know personally many people in Ukraine who are either displaced or remain in the cities severely bombarded by the Russian aggressors.

PLEASE DONATE TO HELP THEM!

My brother, Yevhen Zakharov, and his son, Boris, are currently in Ukraine, providing humanitarian assistance to people needing food, shelter, medicine, and money. Yevhen is the founder of one of the oldest and most prominent Ukrainian human rights organizations, the Kharkiv Human Rights Protection Group.

Boris is a director of the Charitable Foundation “Human and Law.” He also leads the Advocacy Center at the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union.

My brother and his son teamed up with volunteers in the USA, Israel, Poland, and Germany to purchase and deliver humanitarian aid to Ukraine and evacuate the most vulnerable groups from the hottest zones of the conflict. In addition, they provide targeted assistance to families of internally displaced persons and refugees, families of fallen and wounded soldiers, and other families who found themselves in difficult life circumstances as a result of the war.

THIS MISSION WILL SAVE LIVES!

Donated money will also be used to purchase and outfit ambulances to bring wounded soldiers and civilians into hospitals.

I will accumulate the donations in a separate account in my name at Chase Manhattan Bank and wire the money to the two charities based in Germany and Ukraine. I will provide full transparency on future donation usage.

WHY DONATE HERE? Your money will be used in Ukraine by the Ukrainians and help them win the war! This is the most direct way to help with immediate impact and with not one penny of your donation spent to run the charity.

February 2026 Update:

Dear donors!

The total spent in February was 67,490 UAH (approximately $1,558).

Of this sum, 37,490 UAH was spent to assist victims released from the Russian captivity. 20,000 went towards dental care, and the remaining 17,490 went towards examinations and specialist consultations for torture victims—four men and one woman.

The remaining 30,000 hryvnias were spent on purchasing 10 remote control panels for robots, as part of the Facebook fundraiser conducted by the NRK "Triglav" company of the 110th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade.

This is what they write:

“How much is your life worth?

I bet your answer will be something like:

— My life is priceless.

The life of our soldiers is also priceless. But still, saving it comes at a price.

Our boys and girls work in the Zaporizhzhia direction.

In just a few months of active existence, our unit:

* delivered over 52 tons of cargo to the front line;

* evacuated 37 wounded soldiers and 7 fallen comrades;

* In total, we cover over 3,000 km.

The constant, effective, and systematic work of our unit requires various forms of support, both material and financial.

It is extremely difficult for our military to cover these costs on its own.

Currently, we need help with the purchase of 10 control panels of the type:

RadioMaster TX12 MK II (CC2500) EdgeTX ELRS FCC

Please help us help our people on the front line.

GOAL: 65,000 UAH

Your donation today means lives saved tomorrow. This is the quiet hum of a ground drone engine, which, for a guy in a trench, becomes the most important signal: you are not alone. They remember you. They will break through to you. They will definitely take you out.”

Dear donors, your donation has closed the collection, and I would like to pass along the recipients' deepest gratitude.

“THE COLLECTION IS CLOSED! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO JOINED. WE ARE WAITING FOR THE CONTROL PANEL AND PROGRESSING FULLY, WITHOUT FAIL. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR SUPPORTING OUR WORK, FRIENDS!"

Thank you, as always, for your amazing and continued support. Please consider donating again and share this link with friends and family to spread the word and amplify our impact.

January 2026 Update:

Dear donors!

We begin this update by highlighting our key accomplishments from the last year. As we reflect on 2025, we are deeply grateful for your generosity. Last year, you raised a remarkable $22,839, which directly funded life-changing medical and dental care for 93 survivors of Russian detention and torture. Beyond this critical recovery support, your contributions reached the front lines, providing Ukrainian soldiers with essential supplies, including repairs and gasoline for evacuation vehicles, anti-drone nets, and heating pads.

On behalf of those you’ve helped, thank you for standing with us. Your support means everything!

And now onto the last month's report. The total spent in January was 88,107 UAH (approximately $2057).

A total of 45,900 UAH was spent on dentistry. Of this sum, two payments of 20,000 UAH each went for dental prosthetics, and a third of 5,900 UAH for preparation work for prosthetics.

The remaining 42,207 UAH was spent on medical examinations and consultations with specialist doctors for eight victims of torture, including 4 men and 4 women.

In conclusion, I want to share an article about the Kharkiv Human Rights Protection Group project, in partnership with the Swedish organization Eastern Group for Democracy and Human Rights, which assists Ukrainians who have suffered from crimes committed during Russian aggression.

Thank you for being such a vital part of this journey. Your support has already changed lives, and we hope you’ll continue to stand with us. Please consider donating again and share this link with friends and family to spread the word and amplify our impact.

December 2025 Update

Dear donors!

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your incredible support. Knowing you believe in our mission gives us the strength to keep going. Thank you for standing with Ukraine. Because of your kindness in 2025, many victims of Russian aggression and torture received much-needed assistance, and hope was restored to families in their darkest moments. We wish you and your families a bright and hopeful 2026. May your dreams come true!

Please see the latest expense report below.

  • A total of 97,300 UAH (approximately $ 2,300) was spent in December.
  • There were three payments for dental prosthetics for the victims of torture – two of 20,000 UAH each, and one of 19,800 UAH, totaling 59,800 UAH. For all three, this covered only part of the total cost; the recipients paid the rest. In addition, another 2,000 UAH for dental treatment and prosthetic preparation.
  • Five victims of torture received 20,500 UAH in total for medical examinations and specialist consultations.
  • 5,000 UAH was allocated for repairs to a vehicle used to transport soldiers. The funds were sent to the unit where the former KHPG employee serves.
  • 10,000 UAH was spent on assistance for an elderly couple aged 73 and 75. This is yet another story of lives wrecked by the cruel and senseless war. One year ago, during the occupation of Irpin, their son (a civilian) was killed. Because the son was a civilian, the family received no state assistance. They have a daughter, but the family is not very well-off. Their house is damaged; they have patched it up, but according to the father, they are effectively living on the street. In addition, they both have serious health issues (he is diagnosed with cancer, and she has retina detachment), and they need money for medical treatment. 10,000 UAH will cover only a part of their medical expenses.

Your sustained support has been vital to our work. Thank you! Any future donations you could provide would be deeply appreciated and make a significant impact.

Please help us reach even more people by sharing this fundraiser with others.

November 2025 Update

Dear donors!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by your family and friends.

In the days after Thanksgiving week, we are filled with gratitude for our incredible donors. Your generosity empowers our work. Because of you, we are able to sustain our mission and keep supporting victims of torture and mistreatment as they are released from imprisonment in Russia and the occupied territory.

Please see the latest expense report below.

A total of 82,484 UAH (approximately $1956) was spent during November.

Of this amount, 3,290 UAH went to two men for dental treatment (20,000 and 17,290 respectively) and 45,194 UAH to two women and five men – victims of torture and ill-treatment – for medical examinations and specialist consultations.

I would also like to share with you a statement issued by the “December 1st” Initiative Group, a non-governmental association of Ukrainian intellectuals, including scientists, human rights activists, and cultural figures, of which my brother is a member. The statement was issued in response to the US’s 28-point peace plan for Ukraine, and sharply criticizes it. In conclusion, they wrote: “We are not the only ones who feel today that the world is approaching a new moment of truth, when nations will again have to make a fundamental choice between good and evil. Therefore, let us repeat today with faith and hope: God bless America! Glory to Ukraine and its Heroes! God bless this confused and disoriented world!”

We thank you, as always, for your generous and continued support. If you are in a position to donate again in the future, we would be incredibly grateful for the renewed support.

Please help us keep the momentum going by sharing the details of this fundraiser with others!

October 2025 Update

Dear donors!

From September 15 to October 31, a total of 72,195 UAH (approximately $1721) was spent. Please see the details below.

  • 50,495 UAH went for the treatment of 10 torture victims. Of these, 36,650 UAH were spent on dental care, and 13,845 UAH on medical examinations and consultations with specialist doctors (one recipient received 1,065 UAH in reimbursement for a forensic examination)
  • 8,700 UAH was spent on gasoline to transport a car from abroad to a National Guard unit near Kharkiv.
  • 5,000 UAH for mesh used to weave camouflage nets against drones.
  • Another 5,000 UAH for a charging station for an artillery battery, whose deputy commander is a former KHPG employee. They are located far from civilization, and need it for communication.
  • Finally, 3,000 UAH for the repair of two signal vehicles for the 156th Separate Mechanized Brigade.

I would also like to share with you an interview with a Kharkiv resident, Natalka Marinchak, who has stayed and worked in the city since the beginning of this war. To the question “What keeps you in a front-line city?”, Natalka responded: “Land. The land of my ancestors keeps me here. What keeps me going is what, in fact, I talk about in my poetry: if we depart from here, then who will keep this city?” For a complete text of the interview, please refer to this link.

Despite the immense challenges and constant threat, a deep-seated determination to remain in their city and resist the aggression drives the survival spirit of Kharkiv's residents. The residents must endure continuous bombings, but there is strong community support and a determination to maintain the city's cultural life.

We thank you, as always, for your generous and continued support, as well as the trust you have placed in us and our mission, and we hope you will consider donating again. Please continue to spread the word about this fundraiser.
