Hello friends and family!
I will be graduating from the University of Chicago on June 3, 2023. When I was accepted to UChicago through the Questbridge College Match scholarship (which guarantees a full ride to college) and enrolled as an Odyssey Scholar, I was under the impression that I would be required to pay no (or very, very little) tuition or fees -- as I was promised. This has been the case for the last three years.
This year, though, a new $700 charge was added to my EBill that I have been fighting since the fall -- to no avail. I have told the Bursar and the Financial Aid office that I, as a low income student, will not be able to pay this fee, and should not be expected to according to the promises made to me by Questbridge and the University itself. They have told me that I cannot graduate until I pay this fee. Please help me raise funds in order to graduate!
Thank you so much for your support,
Sofia
P.S. To other low-income students looking to go to UChicago: they will mislead you in order to squeeze tuition money out of you. UChicago is currently settling an anti-trust lawsuit for artificially inflating tuition prices. UChicago is not friendly to low-income students. Thanks for the degree, though
