My name is James. I’m 50 years old, and my wife is 49. Asking for help, like this, is something neither of us ever imagined doing. We’ve always worked hard, taken care of our responsibilities, and pushed through difficult seasons — but right now we’re facing a combination of medical and financial challenges that we simply can’t overcome alone.
Since January, I’ve been unable to work due to ongoing heart issues that have required multiple appointments, testing, and monitoring. Because I hadn’t been at my current job long enough (required to be employed there for one year and a day...I've been employed there ALMOST a year. 5 years at my prior job.), I’m not eligible for disability benefits, leaving us without my income.
As we were trying to navigate that, my wife — who dedicated 13 years to her job — was suddenly and unexpectedly let go. Losing her income on top of my medical situation has put us in a crisis we never expected to face at this stage of our lives.
And now, I’m scheduled for surgery on both of my hands, which will further delay my ability to return to work. Even after recovering from my heart issues, I won’t be able to use my hands for a period of time, meaning we’re facing more weeks without income.
We’re doing everything we can to stay stable, but right now we’re in a gap we can’t close alone. This campaign is to help us get through a very specific window of time — from now through July 2026 — while I recover and while my wife works to secure new employment.
We’re raising funds to cover essential living expenses during this period of medical recovery and job transition. Your support will help us stay stable through July 2026 by covering:
• Rent
• Electricity, water, sewage, and gas
• Cell phone bill (our only reliable way to stay in contact with doctors, job applications, and family)
• Medical co‑pays and follow‑up appointments
• Groceries and basic household needs
This isn’t for anything extra — it’s simply to keep our home, keep the lights on, and make sure our family stays safe during this unexpected crisis.
To be fully transparent, here are our essential monthly expenses:
• Rent: $1,600
• Electricity: ~$110
• Water: ~$65
• Sewage: ~$65
• Gas: ~$70
• Cell phones: ~$235
Total Monthly Essentials:
$2,145
We need help covering 4 months (April–July 2026):
After adding a small buffer for platform fees and unexpected medical costs, our total goal is:
$10,000
This number isn’t inflated — it’s simply what it takes to keep our family stable during this period of recovery and transition.
We’re not asking for long‑term support.
We’re asking for help to get through a very specific and temporary period.
Between my heart issues, the upcoming surgeries on both of my hands, and the loss of both of our incomes, these next few months are critical. By July, we expect to be in a much more stable position — but right now, we need help bridging the months between here and there.
We are asking for $10,000 to cover our essential living expenses through July 2026 while I undergo heart treatment and hand surgeries, and while my wife works to secure new employment.
Every donation — no matter the amount — helps us keep our home, stay current on bills, and focus on healing and rebuilding. If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this campaign also makes a huge difference.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for supporting our family during a moment we never expected to face. Your kindness gives us hope and breathing room while we work to rebuild our stability.
