Help Scar Get the Treatment He Deserves ❤️
Our sweet Scar has survived so much already. We’re asking for your help to give him one more chance.
Scar is not just a dog to us. He is family.
A couple years ago, my father rescued Scar in Mexico after he had been abandoned by his previous owner and left alone in an abandoned house for who knows how long. We believe Scar is around 8 years old now, although we don’t know his exact age.
His previous owner had trained him to fight other dogs, and as a result, Scar came to us covered in scars. That is how he got his name. We decided to keep the name because, to us, those scars became a reminder of everything he had survived.
And Scar has survived so much.
When he first arrived in the United States, we discovered that he had heartworms and another worm infection as well. He went through treatment and fought through it like the strong boy he is.
Later, doctors discovered cysts in his prostate. At the time, he had not yet been neutered, so he underwent surgery to remove the cysts and did very well and he got neutered at the same time.
A few months ago, we learned that Scar has a very quiet heart murmur. Thankfully, his veterinarians are not currently concerned about it, and he continues to live his life happily.
He recently had a minor UTI, and while we were relieved that it was treatable, we never imagined that something much more serious was about to be discovered.
Doctors found a mass inside Scar’s nostril.
Right now, we don’t know what it is.
It could be benign. But it could also be malignant.
The only way we can find out is through a biopsy and CT scan, and depending on the results, Scar may also need surgery to remove the mass.
We are scared. We are heartbroken. We are extremely saddened by the news. But we are not ready to give up on him.
Scar is one of the most loving, funny, and incredibly resilient dogs we have ever known. Despite everything he has experienced, he has never stopped being loving. He has never complained. Even when he has been in pain, he has continued to be his happy, goofy self.
He has already fought his way through so many obstacles that life has put in front of him.
We just want to give him a chance to keep fighting.
The cost of his CT scan, biopsy, veterinary care, and potential surgery is more than we can comfortably manage on our own. That is why we are humbly asking for help.

Scar was abandoned once.
We don’t want him to feel like he has been abandoned again.
He deserves the opportunity to find out what this mass is, receive the treatment he needs, and hopefully continue living the happy life he has fought so hard to have.
