On New Years Day I underwent a major surgery …13 hours worth. To repair a rare type of hernia. Type 3 paraesophageal hernia that progressed to incarceration…. My complete stomach and upper intestines moved completely into my lower chest cavity resulting in obstruction cutting off blood supply to my stomach resulting in me having emergency surgery. This type of hernia being rare most medical centers are not equipped to handle such procedures nor are there many surgeons will to even attempt it. God was with me. My gastroenterologist just happened to have the experience to to do the procedure, but expressed openly that he needed help. I had to wait a week living only off of an IV and potassium infusions. Potassium infusions are no fun. Moving forward, my first CT scan revealed some suspicious cells which turned out to be malignant. Again here comes God to hand me more blessings. The cancer was discovered at such an early stage (clinical 1B) I got a two for one shot. Type 3 paraesophageal so repair followed by a subtotal gastrectomy and the removal of the surrounding lymph nodes. Time to throw my pride out the window. I’ve never asked for help in this capacity, but I need help financially for my physical therapy. Transportation to and from Physical therapy. Can’t drive due to the risk of air bag deployment if there was an accident. I have to undergo bacteria (good) replacement . I don’t even want to get into the humiliating procedure and Ive still got 2 peg tubes in my chest which will remain for 10 weeks minimum up to 20 weeks. Those get weekly adjustments as I am rapidly gaining back the 71 pounds I lost. I’m literally down to the last of my savings and it’s scaring the shit out of me. I’m honestly having the hardest fight for my life right. SSI benefits have been applied for and that alone is a 12 to 15 month wait…. Anything anything at all would be a blessing to this nightmare.
