If you live in the Oakdale community there is a great chance that you know Teacher Lilly Groom. Lilly has been an Oakdale staple for many years. She is known for mentoring the young hearts and minds of its youth and adults alike over the last 40+ years as a preschool teacher at her own in home daycare along with several schools and daycares in the area. If you know Lilly and her Husband Danny you have been graced with their love, giving hearts, and helpfulness.
Lilly recently moved from Oakdale to Texas where she and her husband Danny could continue to live dreams and make memories while she continued doing what she loves...teaching children. Her grandchildren specifically. Unfortunately her dreams will have to continue without the love of her life as she lost “her Danny” who recently passed. This has left the family devastated and needing to make the travel back to California to lay Danny to rest and take care of end of life business.
Lilly will be faced with many unforeseen expenses due to this entire ordeal including transporting Danny back to CA, housing the family while making arrangements to lay Danny to rest and honor him and his wishes. Do to circumstances regarding Danny’s death Lilly will no longer be able to receive the disabled portion of Danny’s retirement. This coupled with all the additional expenses is creating quite the hard ship for her and her family. Many have reached out and asked how they may help this would definitely be a way to help lessen their burden and show them support.
