On May 1, 2023 my sister and my 2 nephews lives were changed forever. My brother-in-law lost his 2 year battle with stage 4 heart failure. The last two years have been nothing more than sheer turmoil on this family. The countless hospital stays, procedures, doctors appointments. My sister became her husbands full time caretaker all while having two school age children to tend to. My brother in law was no longer able to work. He has been in Aviation for over 20 years. Something he loves and is so passionate about. He landed his dream job with American Airlines shortly before becoming sick. Although this is a union job they failed him and his family. Not only dropping his medical coverage but ending all his other benefits as well. Family has pulled together and helped where we can but my sister will need need all the support to pick up the pieces for her sons as she navigates this tragedy. She is in danger of loosing her home, her only vehicle does not run well.
My brother in law was an Army veteran who served just a short time after getting medically discharged as he fell out of a helicopter. He started Operation KILO- Killed in Action Memorial Project. He had a huge heart for our Veteran community.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and our family appreciates so much any help you can offer.
