Hello, my name is Jillian and I’m asking for help, which is very hard for me to do.
My most emergent need is help with paying my rent and my phone bill. I have an eviction notice and expect my phone to be shut off any moment for non-payment.
In 2021, I started a home based MLM business that was largely successful and growing. However, for the last year, I was the victim of horrific bullying, harassment, and the trauma associated with it all. Multiple times for multiple incidents, I reached out for help through my company’s Compliance Department and it fell on deaf ears. One of the perpetrator’s of this harassment was fired, but I wasn’t even contacted to let me know she was, I found out in a business meeting with our field development manager.
It was so much larger and horrific than I can even explain in words. The webs of lies ran so deep and I was being gaslit throughout. I received absolutely zero help from my company and was left to fend for myself. They simply didn’t care. It took a huge mental toll and over time I found myself fearful to even go live on social media (the primary source of earning my income) and was having a visceral reaction to that stress. My income decreased significantly because of this.
In June, I decided to resign from the company due to constant harassment. It was no longer worth the toll it was taking on my mental health. I could no longer be a part of or promote a company that allowed this to happen to me and chose to do nothing to stop it. I’ve realized since that I am not the only one this has happened to and this company is currently in some hot water for it and much more.
In March, I started applying for full-time jobs. I have been mostly applying for work from home jobs because we have one car and my son will need it for his school/apprenticeship. I have interviews coming up, thankfully! I started with another direct sales company that has been wonderful but it’s just not supplementing my income like I need it to. I have zero funds and my bills are piling up. I applied for food stamps and state Medicaid - which is so hard for me given how hard I have worked in the hopes to never need it again.
I have a 10-day eviction notice from my landlord that will go to court if I don’t pay my rent by July 20th. I have lived here for almost 6 years. Of course, rent will be due again on the 1st. My phone bill is also three months behind and due to be shut off any moment. My son just applied for an apprenticeship program and we’ve both been seeking jobs so it’s so important to keep my phone on and a roof over our head. I’m struggling right now and I desperately needs some help just to get through the next month. Hopefully I will secure a job soon and I can get back on track.
It is incredibly hard for me to ask for help. I hate doing it, it makes me physically sick, but I have no choice. It’s embarrassing and my mental health is at an all-time low. I’ve never felt this terrible in my entire life. I’m working closely with my therapist now that I have health insurance again and I’m hoping to start feeling better soon.
