My name is Sheldaelle Michel, and I am fundraising for myself and my brother, Beely Michel.
We are facing a situation we never imagined we would experience.
My brother has been unemployed for more than six months because the government revoked his work permit. Our Temporary Protected Status (TPS) is ending, and we have been told that we must leave the United States in February 2026. We have no way to work legally, no income, and no financial stability as that date gets closer.
When we left Haiti, we hoped for safety, opportunity, and a better future. We left behind everything we owned in our small village. Now, that village has been taken over by armed gangs. We cannot return to our home, and we will have to search for a place that is not under gang control, somewhere we can hide, at least temporarily. We have no house to return to, no belongings left, and no savings.
Going back means starting from zero in a country that is in crisis. We are afraid, and we feel alone.
That is why we are asking for help.
Your support will help us with:
- finding a safe place to stay when we are forced to return,
- basic necessities like food, transportation, and temporary shelter,
- rebuilding our lives in a country that is extremely dangerous right now.
Any amount, even the smallest contribution, will make a huge difference for us. If you can’t donate, sharing this link also helps more than you know.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read our story and for supporting us during the hardest moment of our lives.
