“After 30 Years Away... I’m Finally Going Home”
My name is Eddie, and after more than 30 years away from my family in Maryland, I’m ready to go back, I need to go back. - even if only for two weeks. I’m turning 60 this year, and my mother is now 77. I want to sit with her, hold her hand, tell her how much I love her, and miss her and make memories we’ve both been waiting decades for. I want to see my son again... and meet the grandchildren I’ve never had the chance to hug.
For the past 11 years I’ve been living in Alaska,( and 22 yrs in FL ) teaching and working with a special-needs youth who has become part of my heart. Helping him grow has changed my life, and his and I plan to continue working with him for as long as I can. I just haven't had anytime off in these 11 years and I really need this badly. This trip home isn’t just about healing my past - it’s about strengthening the future I’m building.
I’m asking for help to cover the cost of traveling from Alaska to Maryland, staying for two weeks, reconnecting with my family, and returning to continue my work.
Goal: $3,000-$4,500
This will cover round-trip travel, lodging, food, transportation, and essential expenses.
