Hello there and thank you for looking at my story. On 3/2 I tripped on the vinyl floor in my kitchen which was coming up and tripped me. I had fallen a terrible way in which my ankle was sideways and all of my body weight fell onto it. At the emergency room they verified that I had torn all of the ligaments in my ankle, and broken my fibula which is the smaller bone in your leg. I had to go into emergency surgery to fix it. In the meantime I had to wait six weeks before I can put any pressure on it whatsoever. I will also need to see the doctor next month and begin physical therapy for 4 to 6 weeks.
My family and I have suffered through this all together. My husband has been amazingly supportive and does everything from getting me to the bathroom to overseeing my doctor approved pre physical therapy exercises. He hasn't been able to work on anything else while he's taking care of me. And I'm so grateful for his support.
My family has incurred an enormous amount of expenses due to this split-second accident. Aside from the enormous medical bills which are just now coming in and prompted me to create this spotfund, there have been numerous other charges such as trying to purchase clothes that go over my cast/boot, physical therapy items, and of course gas prices going back and forth to appointments which I know we are all hurting about.
My husband lives on social security income and I am on disability income. The amount of are co-pays on medical bills will create an enormous burden upon my family. My husband's inability to look for contract jobs has been put on hold. And even just the things we've had to buy to assist me while I'm recovering have hurt my family financially.
Most of you know who know us know that we have a really difficult time asking for help. But this is a season in which I know our community can help ease the burden of. If you can't donate, please remember us in your prayers. Thank you for considering our request today.
