Queridos familiares y amigos,
Para quienes han tenido el placer de conocer a mi mamá, Marta, saben que es una persona llena de luz, amor y bondad. Realmente es un ángel en la tierra.
Mi mamá nació con una condición genética llamada Enfermedad Renal Poliquística (Polycystic Kidney Disease o PKD), un trastorno que provoca la formación de quistes llenos de líquido en los riñones. Con el tiempo, estos quistes aumentan de tamaño y dañan el tejido renal, lo que puede causar presión arterial alta, enfermedad renal crónica y, eventualmente, insuficiencia renal.
Después de muchos años luchando valientemente contra esta enfermedad, mi mamá ha llegado a la etapa 5 de insuficiencia renal. Gracias a Dios, hoy tiene la oportunidad de recibir un trasplante de riñón. Su cirugía está programada para el 9 de junio y, después de haberse convertido recientemente en abuela, no podríamos sentirnos más felices y esperanzados por la posibilidad de una mejor calidad de vida, que es precisamente lo que este trasplante le ofrece.
Aunque este trasplante representa una gran bendición para nuestra familia, también trae consigo importantes desafíos económicos. La recuperación requerirá que mi mamá permanezca sin trabajar por al menos tres meses, y posiblemente entre cinco y seis meses antes de que pueda regresar a su profesión como higienista dental. Durante este tiempo, los gastos médicos seguirán acumulándose mientras sus ingresos se verán considerablemente reducidos.
Como familia, estamos comprometidos a apoyarla en cada paso de este proceso, pero sabemos que el camino por delante será económicamente difícil. No es fácil para nosotros pedir ayuda, pero acudimos a ustedes con humildad y esperanza para aliviar parte de esta carga y permitir que mi mamá pueda concentrarse completamente en su recuperación.
Nuestra meta es recaudar $10,000 antes del 20 de junio para ayudar a cubrir los gastos médicos, las cuentas del hogar y la pérdida de ingresos durante los primeros meses de recuperación de mi mamá. Cada aporte, por pequeño que parezca, representa una gran ayuda para nuestra familia. Si no pueden contribuir económicamente en este momento, agradeceríamos enormemente sus oraciones, su apoyo y que compartan esta campaña con familiares y amigos.
Sabemos que la mano de Dios ha estado presente en la vida de mi mamá durante todo este proceso, y estamos profundamente agradecidos por el amor, las oraciones y el apoyo de nuestra familia, amigos y comunidad. Dear Friends and Family,
For those of you who have had the pleasure of meeting my mom, Marta, you know she is a light in this world—full of love, kindness, and compassion. She truly is an angel on earth.
My mom was born with a genetic condition called Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), a disorder that causes fluid-filled cysts to grow in the kidneys. Over time, these cysts enlarge the kidneys and damage surrounding tissue, often leading to high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease, and ultimately kidney failure.
After years of courageously battling this condition, my mom has reached Stage 5 kidney disease. We are incredibly grateful that she has now been given the opportunity to receive a kidney transplant. Her surgery is scheduled for June 9th, and after recently becoming a grandmother, we could not be more hopeful about the promise of a healthier future and an improved quality of life.
While this transplant is an incredible blessing, it also comes with significant financial challenges. The surgery and recovery process will require her to be out of work for at least three months, and possibly up to five or six months before she can safely return to her career as a dental hygienist. During this time, medical expenses will continue to grow, while her income will be greatly reduced.
As a family, we are committed to supporting her through this journey, but we know the road ahead will be financially demanding. It is not easy for us to ask for help, but we are reaching out in the hope of easing some of that burden so that my mom can focus entirely on healing and recovery.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 by June 20th to help cover medical expenses, household bills, and lost income during the first months of her recovery. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to give, we would be deeply grateful for your prayers, encouragement, and for sharing this page with others.
