Campaign Title: Disabled Army Veteran Needs Urgent Help Saving Her Home After Fire

The Story:

Dear Friends, Family, Veterans, and Community,

My name is Helen Allen. I am an Honorably Discharged, disabled Veteran of the United States Army. During my time in service, I learned how to face adversity head-on, but today, I am facing a battle that I cannot win alone, and I am humbly asking for your support.

Exactly one year ago, my life changed in an instant. On April 27, 2025, my home was severely damaged by a devastating house fire. For the past 12 months, I have faced displacement, financial stress, and the exhausting process of trying to rebuild my life from the ground up while managing my service-connected disabilities.

After a year of grueling work, we finally hit a beautiful milestone: on April 27, 2026, the final city permit was issued, officially allowing me to return home. Being back inside my own walls is an immense relief, but a sudden financial roadblock now threatens my housing stability.

The Financial Gap:

While the home is safe to occupy, my USAA insurance policy did not cover the full cost of the fire restoration. Out of the final $58,899.79 rebuilding invoice from my general contractor, Seaboard Enterprises Corp., insurance shortfalls have left me personally responsible for a remaining balance of $27,281.28.

My contractor has worked with me and allowed me to move back in, but they require this remaining balance to be paid in full over a strict three-month timeline.

Our Urgent 3-Month Payment Deadlines:

As a disabled veteran on a fixed income, I have completely exhausted my life savings and emergency funds over the past year just to survive displacement and get the house back to living standards. I must meet these exact monthly payment milestones to prevent legal action or a contractor lien against my home:

  • Deadline 1 (May 24, 2026): $8,000.00 (Only days away)

  • Deadline 2 (June 24, 2026): $8,000.00

  • Deadline 3 (July 24, 2026): $8,000.00

  • Final Deadline (August 24, 2026): $3,281.28 (To settle the account completely)

How You Can Help a Veteran Today:

I served my country proudly, and now I am asking my community to help me save the home I fought so hard to return to. Every single dollar raised through this campaign will go directly toward paying these contractor invoices to secure my house.

Whether you can contribute $10, $50, or share this link with veteran networks, military organizations, and your own friends, you are directly ensuring that this Army veteran's return home is permanent and secure.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, your shares, and your support.

Hand salute,

Helen Allen
US Army Veteran (Disabled/Honorably Discharged)
