My name is Harper McGoldrick and I am 19 years old. I have been searching for opportunities to give back in this next year of life and have found my answer.
If you do not know a lot about the GIVE volunteer program, allow me to fill you in. GIVE allows students to travel abroad while making a lasting difference for themselves and the world. It is an entirely volunteer based program that aids communities and habitats. This opportunity will not only allow me to spend time with something I am passionate about, environmental science, but emmerse me in new cultures and experiences.
I have been applying to be a part of GIVE's volunteer program for months/years. As you can probably assume by now, I have finally been accepted to travel and grow with them this summer!
I am planning to join them for two trips. Those include Laos and Hawaii. I truly feel that it is my calling and these trips will be lifechanging for me. Of course, these both come with a cost of near $2,000 per trip. I am willing and able to make these payments myself if need be, but would have to make many financial sacrafices. I am asking for your help to fullfill this dream of mine.
