Last summer, a vacation turned into a life-changing experience when my family met Cleri, a hard working mother in the Dominican Republic jungle. Despite the language barrier, we formed a friendship with Cleri, her children, extended family, and neighbors. Witnessing their humble living conditions, we were moved to take action.
Cleri's family resides in a two-room, brick, dirt-floored home. They work tirelessly, saving money to add one brick at a time to expand their living space. As experienced home renovators, Jake and I have prepared a plan to improve their living conditions. The estimated cost for labor and materials to add an extra room to Cleri's home is ONLY $1,300.
