My cousin Layne Koty Pickren was involved in a terrible accident on Monday July 3rd. Layne was struck by a driver heading the wrong direction on State Road 23 near I-10. This caused his truck to turn allowing the SUV behind Layne to strike his driver side. Layne has been in the capable hands of the doctors at UF Shands but he has a long road of recovery ahead of him. Layne broke his orbital bone, broke both his legs and feet and broke his back in many places. After hours of surgery it was determined that Layne is going to lose the use of his feet as a result of the damage to his back.
These are the instances where Faith, Family and Community are so important. If you are able to contribute in any form to help Layne's road to recovery the Pickren family will be forever grateful.
