Help Me Rebuild After Losing My Only Car
Hi, my name is Jamiya, and this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write.
I recently started a new job, and for the first time in a long time, I felt like my life was finally moving in the right direction. I was excited to work, save money, and become more independent.
Then everything changed in a matter of seconds.
While driving home, another vehicle came into my lane. To avoid what I believed would be a head-on collision, I swerved. In the process, my car suffered catastrophic damage, and one of the wheels came off. Thankfully, I survived without life-threatening injuries, but my car was destroyed.
That car wasn’t just a way to get from place to place—it was my first car. It represented freedom, independence, and the hard work it took to get it. Watching it become undrivable was heartbreaking.
I’m currently living in a residential program for young adults while working toward building a stable future. I don’t have the financial resources to replace my vehicle on my own, but I also can’t afford to lose the job I worked so hard to get because I don’t have reliable transportation.
I’m asking for help raising money to purchase a safe, dependable used car so I can continue getting to work, keep earning an income, and continue building a better future for myself.
