Please Help Us Reunite
My name is Candice Alston, and I’m reaching out for support to create a safe and stable environment for my daughter and I. We’ve faced significant challenges, and I’m committed to providing a better future for us both.
I’m from Baltimore, Maryland, I'm a mom, a hard worker and I personally have overcome some of my own emotional and financial struggles over the years through perseverance and diligence but I have come to a point where I must put my pride aside and ask for assistance during this very trying time. Last year my daughter was placed in foster care after being removed from her father’s home due to his untreated schizophrenia and neglect issues and there has been various court dates and meetings with social workers since to follow up on us all since this has happened. our relationship as mother and daughter.
I am currently working through the court system with the support of a public defender, and while he is doing his best, I feel I need additional legal aid to ensure I have full support. At the same time, I am struggling because I feel the Department of Social Services is failing to provide the support I need. I am not getting the help that was promised, and I am worried about how this will impact my reunification process with my child. Unfortunately the past years has had a largely negative effect on my daughters social development and our relationship as mother and daughter, I am also seeking therapeutic counseling as well.
I have moved to a new residence in a safer area with loving support and much appreciated donations, I am very happy and overly grateful for that.
I’m also going back to school this spring to pursue a degree in Health Information Technology. At 35, I’m determined to be a role model for my daughter, showing her the importance of resilience and growth. My goal is to provide financial and emotional stability for us, ensuring a brighter future.
The funds will go toward supporting our transition reunification legally and help cover educational and therapeutic expenses, ensuring that we have the stability we need to move forward.
