I'm starting this fundraiser for Joseph 'Brady' Shorter, a dear friend who's been a pillar in our Jackson, Mississippi community. Brady has always been the type of person to lend a hand or share a smile, even in his own struggles. Last year, he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a challenge that has altered the course of his life and introduced new complexities and financial stresses with mounting medical treatments and necessary adaptations at home.
Despite these hurdles, Brady's resilience remains unbroken. I remember when he first told me about his diagnosis; he was more concerned about how it might affect his ability to help others than about his own health. However, with costs piling up, the strain has started to overshadow his usual optimism. I'm reaching out because I know just how many lives Brady has touched and how loved he is. By banding together, we can support him through this difficult time and help restore a bit of the ease and comfort he so often provides for others.
