My name is Lorena, and I’m asking for help for my dad and our family during one of the hardest times we’ve ever faced.
Recently, my dad developed pneumonia and had to be rushed to the hospital. Because of how serious his condition became, he had to be airlifted over four hours away to Reno, where he is now receiving the care he needs. He is currently in the ICU in critical condition and on supplemental oxygen. While we’re incredibly grateful that he’s receiving the care he needs, having him so far from home has created another heartbreaking challenge for our family.
My mom and I are the main providers for our household, and now we’re trying to balance work, caring for our family, and making the long trips back and forth to Reno to be by my dad’s side. The cost of travel, time away from work, and keeping our household running has become overwhelming.
Several years ago, my dad suffered a devastating stroke that left him unable to use one side of his body. Our lives changed overnight, but if you know my dad, you know he has never been one to give up. Even after his stroke, he continued doing what he loved most—gardening. Despite his physical limitations, he stayed busy and worked as much as he could because taking care of our family meant everything to him. He never stopped trying to provide for us, and that’s just the kind of man he is. His strength, determination, and selflessness have inspired everyone who knows him.
We’re humbly asking for any support you can give. Every donation will help ease the burden of travel expenses, lost income, and everyday household costs so we can focus on what matters most—being there for my dad as he fights through this difficult time.
If you’re not able to donate, we completely understand. Sharing this fundraiser and keeping my dad and our family in your thoughts and prayers would mean more than you know.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to read our story. Your kindness, generosity, and support remind us that we don’t have to face this alone. We are holding onto hope and praying for healing, and we are forever grateful for every prayer, every share, and every act of kindness.
