UPDATE: Ender's health was fading fast, and with a second opinion the prognosis was even more grim. They estimated $5k just to try and stabilize her in the hospital for ONE NIGHT. And then there would be further testing, possible surgery and/or chemotherapy. I could have found the money, but as a family we decided not to put her through that. We instead chose a compassionate end to her suffering. I will be updating the amount needed to cover the costs I incurred yesterday and today, plus cremation and potential memorial keepsake options. We are gonna miss our Ender B SO MUCH 😭😭😭
Ender was a foster fail who stole our hearts with her silly antics and loving nature. She's been there for me and my family for 9 years... And while I can't ever repay her, I can try to do my best for her. Even if that means end of life care.
Yesterday, after noticing she wasn't eating, I got her into her normal vet. The veterinarian immediately felt a large growth in Ender's abdomen. Imaging at the clinic seemed to confirm a mass, so we're looking into an expensive oncology consult with the VCA in Albuquerque in order to confirm the diagnosis and decide the next steps.
I am disabled and currently attempting to catch up with bills from my own health issues, so any help with the costs will be an absolute blessing. My family and I are grateful for any community support provided.
