My husband and I live in the house his grandpa built in 1975. Including our son, this house has been the home to four generations of my husband’s family. My mother-in-law and grandma-in-law are our neighbors as my husband’s grandpa owned the majority of the property on our street and, at one time, this neighborhood was mostly family members and their houses built on land sold or gifted to them by my husband’s grandpa. For those reasons (amongst others), we don’t necessarily want to move, but the house is just structurally not sustainable or functional for much longer. Our dream is to purchase the acreage behind our property back from the people his grandpa sold it to years ago, build a new house on it, and tear this one down. If it was possible to fix this house without tearing it down and rebuilding it, we would do that. But, unfortunately, that’s just not a feasible solution. So in order to move forward with the purchase of the property to even begin this project, we need to pay off our current debts. At least the most manageable ones. So I am chipping away at our credit cards first to give us that head start and a little bit of breathing room in our tight budget. Every cent raised here is a blessing bigger than you know and is so appreciated!
