Hi there! My name is Jennie and my husband David and I have been together since we were 16 and married since 2001. We have 5 amazing kiddos with our oldest being twins age 20 and our youngest and only girl being 5. Right during COVID I began not feeling well even though I nor anyone else in my family had tested Positive for COVID at that point and we were very careful with the only time anyone left the house was David and that was at a bare minimum. Well one day David and I went out to get our COVID boosters and I went to my doctor an hour or so later and they were very worried about my heart rate. To make a long story short we ended up with tons of tests, thousands in medical bills and no answers. We saw a lot of different doctors and had many other tests and were finally diagnosed with POTS which is a type of dysautonomia. In my particular case when I stand up my heart rate gets really high and a lot of times I pass out. This makes every day tasks like helping my kids, going to baseball games, cooking, cleaning, etc almost impossible. This was until we found out about how service dogs can be utilized in situations such as these and the group we are working with for our service dog actually selects potential dogs from kill shelters so when it works we will both be savings each others lives. We are not ones that are generally fundraiser types (for ourselves) but in this case this could potentially end up being close to $10k. If you have read this much already I cannot thank you enough for just doing that. If you could just send a positive vibe or prayer our way that is more than I could ask! If you do so feel inclined to contribute every $ donated will go towards the training to help me become more independent which if anyone knows me, you know I don’t like to depend on others.

New update: We have been working hard on getting the funds together and are probably going to do more virtual training by me but hey since being displaced from my job I guess I should have more time right. At this point I have cried I much over the job I am trying to avoid the getting mad part. We are still trying to teach our OG goal of $3k!!

Most recent update: We have been matched with our potential service dog! We are so very excited for training to begin!!! Here is a glimpse of what all of you are helping us with! This is Panda! She is 2.5 and is a German Shepherd. We are so blessed to be matched so quickly! Panda will begin her public assess training in the coming weeks and will have to take a slight pause to be fixed and then back at it. We are hoping to have her home by my birthday, Thanksgiving, or Christmas! Obviously the more training we can do the more specific we can get on the task training specially for my condition and at a price of $800-$1000 a month fingers crossed things go smoothly!! Thank you all for your continued supports and prayers. After this past weekend at baseball we have seen now more than ever how important and needed this service dog truly is!!! Check the comments for a couple of photos of Panda. (Side note: we did not choose the name as she is 2.5 years old however it does completely fits her)
