Update for those interested
I made face to face contact with Johanna , she is 75 years old.
She doesn’t have a phone or Wi-Fi or a vehicle to go anywhere.
She says she does her best to get food by walking two miles to ShopRite in the cold , or rain, or snow if need be.
She has had people come to her house and say they will help her, but never sees them again…
She has only 1 single working outlet in her home for electricity.
She has a microwave plugged and a small space heater where her front door is and need to huddle up by the door to sleep for the night.
She has no running water because a water supply line broke in her home , in fact, broke in four different locations within the walls of the house so the city came and shut her water off.
Consequently, she also does not have heat because the home is equipped with baseboard heat, which functions off of water (in case you didn’t know how that works)
This makes me very sad for this woman, and I am all in on this thing for her
If anyone wants to help or join me, it would mean the world to me and mean everything to this woman , I’m sure.
The joists to the home are destroyed and there is nothing supporting the sky light on the roof.
The apex of the roof appears to be intact.
The sheething is gone.
Black mold visible
Joists need replacing
And shingles are needed , obviously. We would truly appreciate donations in the form of money to purchase materials to repair the house.
We have some volunteers who are ready to provide labor. We would also be grateful for your time if you would like to come help!
