My name is Jiovone, and I am a mother humbly asking for help to keep my son in college and allow him to continue pursuing his education and football dreams.
My son is currently entering his sophomore year at Gannon University, where he plays Safety (#38 and #49). He has played football since he was 6 years old and has dedicated his life to academics, athletics, and leadership both on and off the field.
He has earned multiple accomplishments including Honor Roll recognition, Scholarship Athlete awards, Team Leadership honors, and Honorable Mention All-City in baseball. He also recorded a perfect fielding percentage in baseball, had standout football performances including 8 tackles in a varsity game, and received 18 college offers during his senior year of high school.
Beyond sports, he volunteers with youth football programs and gives back to the community whenever he can. He is committed to being a positive role model for younger kids and his younger siblings.
This past year was especially difficult for our family. We suffered the loss of my grandmother in October, which deeply impacted him emotionally during his freshman year. Despite that, he pushed through and finished the year with a strong academic and athletic performance.
Although he has scholarships, there is still a remaining tuition balance of approximately $1,800 per month that I am responsible for. I currently work through a temp service, and while I am grateful for employment, it is not stable enough to fully cover these expenses.
His father is also battling sarcoidosis, which has made it difficult for him to work consistently due to his health.
My sonβs dream is to graduate college, continue playing football, and one day either reach the NFL or build a successful career in real estate. More than anything, he wants to become someone his younger siblings can look up to and be proud of.
I am asking for help from anyone who feels moved to support a hardworking young man who is doing everything he can to build a better future. Any donation, no matter the amount, would make a meaningful difference in keeping him in school.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much to our family.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any kindness you can offer.
