Bernice and Britiny met about 7 years ago, and got married on October 13, 2015. They moved into a cute little house, built in 1910, in Parkersburg, WV. The landlord was the only one willing to rent to a lesbian couple, and he's done a great job keeping the house fixed up.  Britiny has her Mechanic's License and is working to get her Diesel Mechanic's License, and works at Goodyear. Bernice has her CDL License and has been driving 18 Wheelers for JB Hunt and Warner. Right now, she's getting medical treatment for a bad back. They've always told their landlord that if he ever sold this house, they wanted to be the first to buy it. It's a perfect size for their family, and the large lot is a great place for their two emotional support animals, Snickers and Saint, to run and play. This summer, their landlord died, and the family has to sell off the rental property to settle the estate. Bernice and Britiny don't want to move out - they've become a real part of the neighborhood - Britiny works on cars in their driveway and Bernice cuts grass for many of the older couples, abandoned houses, and churches on the block. With their income, they can make the monthly payments ok, but they weren't able to save up enough money fast enough during COVID to make a downpayment. Can you help us raise $1200 for the downpayment and closing costs, and help them get their dream home in Parkersburg WV? They make each other happy, and brighten up this neighborhood. If they can own their home, they can be here for a long, long time.
