Dear Friends,
I unwittingly got caught up in an employment scam. I did my due diligence and the company looked to be legitimate.
I foolishly agreed to purchase apple products from Costco and BestBuy.
The "employer" would provide me with a bank account number to pay for the charges. After the credit card companies restored my line of credit the employer would provide me a shipping label.
Being the credit card companies were restoring my limit, I thought my job was legitimate. Several weeks after the payments were made, over one month, the credit card companies reversed the payments.
I am on the hook for all the charges and simply don't have the money to pay. I did not benefit from the scam in anyway.
I reported this to law enforcement, the state attorney general, FTC and the FBI. I have been told there is not much they can do to help, and the crime may never be solved.
I have most all of the serial numbers and attempted to contact apple to see if they could deactivate the stolen goods. As of this writing, apple has not responded.
Needless to say, this has ruined my credit.
I would greatly appreciate any donation and will pass along the kindness when I get back on my feet.
If anyone out there could put me in touch with apple, I would like to give them all the serial numbers and product information I have.
Thank you,
John
