Hello everyone.
My name is Sar!ah, I’m Kody’s mom.
I want to share our story, and I also want your help to spread awareness.
My son Kody has acute lymphoblastic leaukemia A.L.L cancer.
He was diagnosed 5 years ago, and we ended up living in a hospital for months.
I’m a single mum and had to stop work. This left us with no income, so I started contacting charities for help.
Unfortunately, for whatever reason, which baffles me, we did not qualify for help.
This means it is up to me as Kody’s mom to step up to the plate and help ourselves, it's the only option.
Most of us know someone who has or had cancer, I never thought it would be my son, and like any mom, wished it was me instead.
Inside, I want to cry, but I have to stay strong, this blog will help hopefully.
Staying positive is the key along with faith.
As Kody gets older, I want to do two things.
One- raise awareness by asking anyone reading this to please retweet and spread the word to highlight this awful disease.
Two - make a diary so that people who may have similar issues can relate and help them too.
Naturally, on the financial side, I need all the help I can get being a single mom.
If you can spare a dollar or so , especially every month, that would be most helpful and kind.
Treatment is expensive and I have to care for Kody, so finding work around the care is difficult. I would love to be able to show him a nice day out sometimes on his better days.
I feel a bit shy, but it’s for Kody.
Hopefully one day, Kody will beat this, and I will then carry on fundraising for cancer research anyway.
What helps the most and knowing Kody as a mom, he would like to be able to spread the word about acute lymphoblastic leukemia cancer, until one day, it can be beaten.
He is my true warrior and hero, I’m in bits most days, but he takes it in stride with good and bad days, remarkable really.
